Customer Review: even at this price, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this trash bin!

For me, it's not about saving money because I'm using store bags; it's that I felt guilty throwing away 20+ store bags every time I went to the store. So then, I started saving the bags for recycling. And every time I went out, I forgot the bags until I'd have a giant bag with more than 200 little bags inside, and then I'd just make a special trip to take them off to recycle. THAT was where I was wasting money. I bought the Simplehuman CW1123 (initially I bought 2) and sort of cringed at the fact that I was buying a $27 trashcan for my bathroom. I've had them about 2 months and have just sat down and, without guilt, ordered 2 more. They are so very convenient. I layer about 5 bags at a time in each one, so that when I pull one out, another is ready to go. Each time I've ordered these, I've ordered the matching bagsaver (I've mounted them near the cans, inside the vanity) to keep the rest of my bags conveniently placed nearby. This bin is exactly what I have been looking for: compact and good looking with brushed stainless and a sturdy black plastic liner, it holds a regular size grocery bag perfectly open to receive trash.
I especially like the 2 large knobs on the short sides that allow to really hold the bag open in place.
The slim dimensions allows it to fit under my sink without crowding our small cabinets.
Finally, it hold the bag in a way that, once the bin is full, there is just enough room to tie up the bag handle and remove the garbage easily.
The only con is the same as for all stainless steel products: if you are going to keep it in plain view, fingerprints show badly on the brushed finish.
Also, it would be great to offer a system to mount the bin on a cabinet door but I think we will be able to improvise and hang this bin.
Overall, exactly the garbage container we needed and had not been able to find in store; I would recommend it without reservation.

Perfect for using grocery bags rather than store bought trash bags. It is easy to load a grocery bag, it fits very nicely, use of grocery bags is more environmentally friendly than throwing them away and purchasing store bought. A plus and a minus is the small size of grocery bags. You won't have garbage sitting around as long if you use the small size grocery bags for liners. On the other hand, you may end up having to empty the trash can more than you would like and you can't fit large items into such a small trash can. Furthermore the can is expensive to buy. For applications where it fits perhaps it will pay for itself over time. If you are already stretching grocery bags over a too big trash can having one designed precisely to use those bags as liners will be a blessing.Customer Review: Perfect Trash Can!

We purchased this trash can because we live in a hi-rise and the trash chute on our floor only takes small bags. So, goodbye full sized garbage can & bags and hello simplehuman! This little trash can is the perfect size for grocery bags and to be placed in a kitchen cabinet. The handles on the side are perfect to prevent the grocery bags from slipping or falling into the trash can. My wife and I have had this trash can for over a year now and we absolutely love it. We save money on trash bags and we get to reuse our shopping bags. Also, the small size encourages us to empty it more often, which reduces smells in the kitchen. It's short height lets you place it anywhere; it will fit under a sink or in a corner without any problem. Plus, the smaller size also makes it easier to clean. I don't think this trash can needs to replace anything that is already doing a good job, but if you're like us and are just starting to put together a home, this is a wonderfully helpful item that will make an excellent addition.
