I'll make it simple.
The GOOD:
- Aesthetically pleasing design. Sleek. As nice as trash cans get.
- Some nice functionality; you can keep the lid open, it closes slowly, the inside trash can gets lifted easily.
THE BAD:
- Very expensive for a trash can.
- The "fingerprint-proof" claim on the product title is a flat-out lie. Not only is in not accurate, it's the exact opposite. Damned thing is a fingerprint magnet. I don't even understand how they can make that claim; it's bewildering. No matter what you do, ugly fingerprints will be all over the surface and it WILL look very dirty. So you have to be willing to become a slave to the trash can and clean it constantly. Kind of a joke.
- Comes with a slightly pungent 'plasticky' smell...like "new toy made in China' kind of smell. Hopefully it will fade.

When our former kitchen trashcan broke, we decided to splurge and get a nicer can, especially one that would match our new refrigerator. This one seemed to fit the bill. The fingerprint proof finish is as they say, and the action on the lid is quiet and smooth. The only less than positive thing to say about it is that if you have an overhang on your countertop, and most people do, the lid will smack the overhang if you are a little overzealous with the footpedal. We have addressed that issue twofold: both stepping on the footpedal more gently, and putting a couple of felt color-matched sticky pads to lessen the "bang" that inevitably happened. Otherwise, the can is great, and while the bags (three) that they supply with the can are wonderful, our normal 13-gallon, white kitchen trash bags work just fine. Love this Simple Human trash can. Arrived extremely quickly from Amazon and this is honestly the first trash can our Border Collie has been unable to get into. We used to hide our trash can in the bathroom every morning before we left so we were nervous the first day leaving him alone at home with this one. We even put tempting things in the trash just to see. It's been about two months now and not once has he managed to get the lid open or knock it over. It's very sturdy/stable (heavy enough that he doesn't try to knock it over yet not too heavy to move around when I clean the floor) and when the lid closes it actually closes down into the sides so there is no edge for him to get a nose or a foot into to pop it open. I highly recommend if you have a dog who loves trash.Customer Review: Wonderful trash can!

My husband could not believe that I spent over $100 on a trash can, but I was tired of the broken pedal and the marks on the wall from the lid of our old trash can. I LOVE this new trash can. Totally worth the money. I got the 10-gallon one, and have had no problems using regular tall drawstring trashbags. The bag stays in, does not stick out the edges, and the lid opens and closes smoothly and quietly without slamming into the wall or back down on your hand.Customer Review: The perfect kitchen trash can

Well constucted. The important parts are made of metal. They also redesigned the inner plastic can with a serrated hole that looks like a star. The plastic trash bag can be pullled tight and pulled through the star, thus keeping the bag tight so that it can't be seen from the outside once the lid is closed. I do not need to use their expensive trash bags -I can use my Costco trashbags. This is the perect kitchen trash can. Highly recommended.
