My recent garbage can broke thanks to my dog always knocking it over while he is running around. I decided i wanted to find a nice looking, great functioning, and most important, a lid locking garbage can. If you've experienced the same problem as me with any pet this garbage can would eliminate all the hassle of cleaning up the trash after its knocked over. The lid locking is a great feature along side its great looks. Another nice feature is the lid closes slowly so there is no loud sound which could be annoying. I know you can go to any store and buy a garbage can but this one is well worth the shipping time, which thanks to amazon.com isn't all that much !Customer Review: Sweet

This is about as nice a trash can as a trash can can be. Clean, ample sized, and the brushed nickle accents are nice without being overdone. The black is sharp. The soft-closing feature still amuses me, and its been a month. Honestly, it's a very neat feature... if you've ever owned a step-open can, you know how abrupt the slam-close usually is. Don't feel as though you're skimping with this model - after all, this is a trash can, not a center-piece.
As for the vendor - it arrived quite quickly, packed well, and with no issues. All in all, I am very satisfied with the purchase.

We purchased this can because our dog kept dragging our trash out all over the house. It's nice looking in person, as Simple Human products usually are. The lock works to keep the dog out, although it is a little bit hard to secure. It's just a slide lock, but it takes a bit of muscle. The slow close feature is nice, and works as advertised, but I find myself often thinking it's not going to close because it takes a moment before it starts going down. I decided to buy this for the locking lid alone. I have a 160 lbs. Great Dane that was knocking over the old can and making a mess. It works very well, cause I learned it wasn't the dog, but the cat knocking it over! She claws at the edge of the bag to get it to fall over, she can't seem to open this one and it frustrates her to no end! The pedal doesn't always work for me, I step on it and the whole can falls forward, but it's not a big deal. I can open the lid myself. It's the lock that makes this perfect for my crazy cat!Customer Review: Great Quality

This basket is perfect for my needs. The foot pedal works great and I love the gradual closing of the lid--great idea!! It is very easy to use with the tall white trash bags i get at the supermarket. Removal of a bag and replacing one is very easy and the basket itself is a high quality item.I was so impressed with this manufacturer that I ordered a kitchen soap dispenser too. A big bonus is that Simple Human guarantees virtually all their products for 5-10 years----AMAZING!!!!
