I bought this product because I had a cylinder shaped kitchen can that would not hold a full garbage bags worth of trash. This can does. It holds enough trash to fill the bag completely. Love the slim design. Fits perfectly beside the fridge and does not protrude into hallway. Good contruction. Love the way the lid closes very slowly. Locks if you have naughty pets. Very stylish. The wheels I find are not useful for any reason. All in all a very good buy.Customer Review: Dogs can get into this trash can!

I gave this item three stars because it is well made and if you are trying to keep children out of the trash can, I think it would be fine. However, I bought it to keep my dog out of the trash. He is a beagle/german shepard mix, and he was able to unlock it and get into the trash in less then 15 minutes (I was outside watering the plants). So, if you have a decently intelligent, medium to large size dog, the lock on this trash can will not stop him.Customer Review: Fantastic trash can (if one can say that about a trash can)!

A friend of mine had a trash can by Simplehuman that I loved. Hers was the round metal style. I needed something less bulky for my new efficiency kitchen, which is all stainless and dark granite.
This fit perfectly! It's a nice, narrow design that that fits in the space I intended to place it, and holds a 13-gallon liner. The hydraulic system is wonderful and works very smoothly. It also has a lock to keep kids and pets out.

Overall would say i am pleased with the product. Quality is great and there is a lock - prevents my toddler from opening it and probably works for families with pets too. However, the size width is a longish so it is hard to find a place to fit this in my small kitchen (but am sure wouldn't be a problem for those with a large kitchen) and standard trash bags don't fit very well (can do if you stretch it a little).Customer Review: Love this trash can

I LOVE this trash can! My neighbor has a dog that likes to "dumpster dive" for treats in the trash and I suggested this trash can for her house. She LOVES it, too! The narrow one fits nicely in the small opening I have. I like the wheels, the latch works well, and the foot pedal to open the can is perfect. I also like the mechanism that makes the lid close slowly- no slamming!
