Tools and Hardware Reviews of simplehuman Wall Mount Grocery Bag Holder, Brushed Stainless SteelCustomer Review: Love it. Summary: 5 Stars
Perhaps it doesn't say much for me that a bag holder would get me all excited, but I really love this product. I am part of the group of people who can't seem to part with plastic bags, so I used to end up with piles of them stuffed into a cabinet. I always wished I could figure out somewhere better to put them, but I had no idea someone actually made a product for this purpose until I ran across this. There isn't much to say about it except it does what it says it does. It stores my plastic bags, plain and simple. The only slight problem I had was that due to my laziness I tried to use the tape instead of screws and it kept falling down. Since going with the screws everything has been fine and I no longer have bags flying through the air every time I open my cabinet door.
Customer Review: Great buy - worth it Summary: 4 Stars
It definitely keeps the grocery bags in check. We used to have a huge bag under the sink and it always kept overflowing and a mess.
It took me about 10 min to install. I installed it under the cabinet. The two screws it comes with are long so it may have gone right through the cabinet doors. It looks really sleek and small and is just a couple of inches below the cabinets.
It holds atleast 25 bags. Make sure you roll it up well before pushing it in to the top hole. Now as soon as it gets full we know we have enough bags and can right away get rid of any extra bags. And since the bags get put in at one end and withdrawn at the other it is first in - first out. No more 5 year old bags at the bottom!
A purchase I'm very happy with.
Customer Review: looks nice, does what it's supposed to Summary: 5 Stars
My kitchen has very limited storage space, so I'm all about these nifty little space saving ideas. I had it on my amazon wish list, and my mother-in-law got it for me this year, and like the title says, it looks great and does what it's supposed to. I am very pleased. : ] Also, after reading several people's comments on here about the sticky pads on the back not working very well, we did screw ours in, not using the sticky pads at all. Unless you know you are renting for a short amount of time, I see no sense in NOT screwing it in the wall. I assumed before I wanted it that we would be screwing it in the wall, and yes, it stays quite nicely. I will just unscrew it when we move, and rescrew it somewhere new at my new home. Not a big deal.
Customer Review: Loosey Goosey Summary: 3 Stars
Aside from the aesthetics and the luxury of finally having a neat way to store used plastic grocery bags for recycling, the method used to mount it to the wall leaves a lot to be desired. I opted to use the two screws provided with the unit instead of the double-faced sticky strips on the back. But I mistakenly thought it would make it sit more securely in place if attached with the screws. Instead, it rocks back and forth and slides from side to side every time I try to pull a bag loose from the slot. Having to hold the unit in place in order to pull one free seems rather pointless.... and invariably mucks up the face of the stainless surface with fingerprints. Handy? Sure...it's a great idea, but for these fastening defects.
Customer Review: An elegant solution to a messy problem Summary: 5 Stars
I am pleased that all my plastic bags fit into this neat little holder because it has freed up a whole cabinet shelf in my kitchen. I debated between this wall-mount unit and the larger unit that sits on a shelf; I choose this one simpley because it hangs on a wall and therefore does not use any shelf space. I wasn't sure that this smaller unit would hold all my plastic bags, but it is actually the perfect size. Whenever I do a lot of shopping, it gets really crammed full, but, since I use the bags for garbage, it also regularly empties out. You can stuff the bags and remove them from either the top or from the front. My husband hung it in the utility room adjacent to our kitchen. Neat.
