I purchased this carafe because it was less than half the price of the other carafes on Amazon. I got what I paid for.
The directions say not to submerge in water because water will leak between the plastic shell and the glass insert. What the instructions didn't mention was that it also leaks when you pour coffee into it. This forces you to that you take the entire thing apart to wash it.
It's not dishwasher safe, and the glass insert has no flat sides, so it was rather precariously perched on the drying rack when I accidentally bumped it. The resulting explosion was incredibly scary and I'm lucky that I wasn't injured from all of the flying glass.
If I could, I would have given this product zero stars.
